When Kevin Smith announced that he would self-distribute RED STATE, he also said that the plan for Smodcast Pictures was to eventually distribute the work of other independent filmmakers. He announced this would be the company’s focus after completing his eleventh and final film, “HIT SOMEBODY”, but guess what…

Sometimes the universe aligns things more quickly than anticipated.

Smith just signed a deal with Phase 4 entertainment to distribute 12 films a year, under the “Kevin Smith and Smodcast Pictures presents” label. In addition, four of these films will be selected for a theatrical tour featuring a Q&A by Kevin Smith and the filmmaker.

I honestly cannot wait to start finding flicks to take out on the road.” Smith said during the announcement.

Smodcast Pictures is seeking: Live action, animation, big budget, micro-budget, comedy, drama, horror, and everything else (feature length). Interested filmmakers should submit their work to:
